Tatyana Pesin-Virovets
Tatyana Pesin-Virovets is the Program Director and co-founder of the Russian Language Academy of Park Slope.Tatyana has a Master’s degree in Russian and Slavic Studies from NYU, Master’s degree in Russian language and Literature from Donetsk State University, and an Associate degree in early childhood education. She has sixteen years of teaching experience in all subject areas for pre-school, kindergarten and elementary school students. From 2006 until 2012 Tatyana was the Saturday Program Coordinator at the Pushkin Academy of Russian Heritage in Manhattan. She is also continuing her full time job at Columbia University.Tatyana’s professional training and vast experience have allowed her to organize and guide the Russian Language Academy’s teaching program with children of different ages and with varying levels of language fluency, and to do so effectively and with much enthusiasm.
Natalie Altshuler
A co-founder of the Russian Language Academy and a resident of Park Slope, Natalie is in charge of business affairs of the school. She has a degree in economics from Harvard University and is a film producer. Natalie is a strong believer in the importance of bilingualism, and her children have had Russian language and literature education since the age of 2.
