What are the Russian Language Academy (RLA) hours of operation and location?
Our program operates on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. RLA is located in the P.S.321 building at Park Slope, Brooklyn.

What age children can be enrolled at RLA?
Children who are three years old and older may be enrolled in our program.

Is your program for native speakers only?
At present, all classes besides Russian as a Second Language are designed for students, whose native language is Russian, and for those with a reasonable knowledge and intensive exposure to Russian.

How can I enroll my child in your program?
The first step towards enrolling in our program is to fill out our enrollment form.

Does the length of the session vary by the child’s age?
Yes. The 3-year-olds’ class is three hours long, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 4-through-9-year-olds’ classes are four hours long, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 10-13 year olds’ classes consist of a 2 hour long Russian language and literature course plus various hour-long electives.

Do I need an appointment to visit the school?
Our school observes an open door policy. We ask that you schedule an appointment with our Program Director to tour RLA on a Saturday during the school year.

What are the logistics of tuition payment?
Tuition checks are due before the start of each semester. Please make them out to “Russian Language Academy” and hand them to the administrator present during the school hours before or on the due date.

What qualifications do RLA teachers have?
All teachers hold Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in Russian language and literature or related field and have prior work experience in a classroom or child care setting.
